Job Description

Redstart is seeking a skilled and experienced Mid-Level Business Analyst for one of its boutique fintech clients in the field of payment processing that has been in the marketplace for over 30 years. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the complete project lifecycle in an agile environment, ensuring high-quality deliverables that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Lifecycle Management: Handle all aspects of the project lifecycle, including business evaluation, scope management, effort estimation, timelines, requirements gathering, high-level design, test planning, and implementation support.
  1. Agile Methodology: Utilize Agile (Scrum) SDLC methodology effectively in project management and exhibit proficiency with JIRA.
  1. Change Management: Contribute to improving project timeframes by efficiently managing change processes.
  1. Requirements Management: Conduct Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions, brainstorming sessions, interviews, workshops, and workflow analyses to gather detailed client requirements.
  1. Compile key documents such as Business Requirements Document (BRD), Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), Use Cases, Flow Charts, Process Flows (including Wireframes and Mock-ups).
  1. Maintain Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) documents.
  1. Business Solutions: Identify and propose solutions, negotiate deliverables and requirements across stakeholders.
  1. Gap Analysis: Perform gap analyses, outline business rules, and roadmaps for transition from current to target states.
  1. Impact Analysis & Validation: Responsible for the impact analysis and validation of change requests, managing business requirement alterations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Business Analysis with previous experience in business technology and/or digital channels within financial services is required.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Payments Landscape and functional knowledge of Payments Canada EFT/Real-Time Rail, INTERAC e-Transfer, SWIFT, ISO 20022, is an asset.
  • Experience with API development and integration, CX and UX design is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Agile (Scrum) SDLC methodology.
  • Fully proficient in use of JIRA and Confluence, the MS Office suite, including Outlook, Visio, Project, Excel and other tools
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation (BRD, SRS, RTM), and business process modeling.
  • Strong ability to identify inefficiencies, process roadblocks and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience dealing with clients and 3rd party vendors.
  • Experience in conducting JAD sessions, workshops, interviews, and workflow analysis.

About the day-to-day:

  • You will create and evolve Peoples Payment Operations processes by owning and delivering concise and complete requirements, and collaborating with your team to deliver best in class solutions.
  • Be the process champion and the Product Owner delegate, an expert in engaging the rest of the team to solve problems and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Help define and improve Payment Operations processes and work cross functionally between Payment Operations and other functional teams.
  • Effectively collaborate and lead discussions with functional stakeholders (i.e. Operations, IT, Products, , etc.) in all facets of development, being an advocate of change and leading change management (i.e. training, communication, etc.), and engage in the effective operation of products and services.
  • Gain a clear understanding of problems and develop clear requirements that will drive accurate implementation of solutions.
  • Work with the Product Owner and subject matter experts to define and document payment operations requirements and translating them into user stories.
  • Build and maintain internal documentation, policies, procedures, and payment operations processes while constantly on the lookout for ways to improve.
  • Develop relationships with partners, working with them to optimize integration, improve and automate processes to maximize business value.
  • Collaborate with product owner to develop and track process performance metrics.
  • Be the team's communicator, ensuring the rest of the organization (executives, and other stakeholders) are made aware of all key decisions and their implications related to improvement and automation of payment operations processes, digital adoption, engagement, and other relevant metrics.
  • Keep up to date with the regulatory and industry practices and ensure that the information is captured and disseminated in the right forums.
