Job Description

Redstart is seeking a Scrum Master for one of its boutique fintech clients in the field of payment processing that has been in the marketplace for over 30 years. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the complete project lifecycle in an agile environment, ensuring high-quality deliverables that align with business goals. As a Scrum Master, you will be instrumental in guiding teams in Agile and Scrum practices, ensuring consistent value delivery and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Agile and Scrum Leadership: Lead team(s) in adopting Agile and Scrum practices, helping them deliver value and self-organize effectively.
  1. Facilitation of Scrum Ceremonies: Conduct all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  1. Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and eliminate obstacles to enhance team performance and facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  1. Team Productivity and Coaching: Optimize team productivity by continuously coaching on Agile and Scrum frameworks and evolving team members' approaches.
  1. Collaboration with Product Owner: Ensure the team fully understands the goals and product vision. Assist in effective Product Backlog management, Story Mapping, and creation of Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
  1. Change Management: Act as a confident change agent, proud to see the team evolve their Agile practices.
  1. Problem Solving and Team Empowerment: Encourage the team’s continuous learning and improvement, being a creative problem solver who allows the team to take the center stage.
  1. Continuous Improvement: Identify and act on areas of opportunity and optimization in collaboration with peers and team members.
  1. Risk Management: Guide the team through uncertainties, risks, and complexities, and effectively communicate these to stakeholders.
  1. Project Deadline Management: Ensure timely completion of projects within an Agile framework, helping to prioritize and negotiate to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in the financial sector, specifically in payment rails.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, manage stakeholder expectations, and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor teams in Agile practices.
  • Experience in working with Product Owners for effective backlog management.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and an ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to be a change agent and a passion for continuous learning.
