What We Did: Interamna was brought on board to provide management and support services to operationalize the Government of Ontario’s initiative to enable the digitization, electronic transfer and viewing of pharmaceutical prescription and dispensing records across the Province of Ontario. This included operationalizing and implementing a Project Management Office for the Medication Management System Program, and supporting Program Directors in the development of program governance and organizational change management strategies, as well as the creation of policies, procedures and work breakdown structures to support eventual implementation.
Objective: The Province of Ontario’s Medication Management System program is a provincial initiative that aims to improve medication safety and quality of care for patients. The objectives of the program include promoting the appropriate use of medications, reducing medication errors, improving medication reconciliation processes across the healthcare system, and enhancing communication and collaboration between healthcare providers involved in a patient's medication management. It is intended to support healthcare providers in making informed decisions about medication use by providing access to up-to-date drug information and medication-related data through a secure electronic system. The ultimate goal is to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs associated with medication-related problems.
